KMOV-TV4 reports that a St. Louis woman lost her left eye and has diminished sight in her right eye after an encounter with police at a BP gas station in Ferguson Tuesday night. Dornella Connors was a passenger in her boyfriend’s car when they were leaving a gas station on New Halls Ferry Road when several police cruisers rolled up and blocked them in on all sides. Connor’s boyfriend, De’Angelas Lee, attempted to drive around the St. Louis County Police cruisers when one of the officers, fearing for his safety, shattered the passenger side window with a non-lethal bean bag round, causing injury to Connors.
Police justified their actions of using a bean bag gun because, they claim, Lee was driving his car towards the officers. Another officer helped the young woman get medical attention.
Connors told KMOV that she and Lee were just riding around in respect of Mike Brown.

I didn’t have any weapons. I wasn’t looting or anything. You know, I was just out with my boyfriend and we was just riding around just, you know, respecting Mike Brown.
Police were responding to the gas station because there were reports of multiple gunshots at that location. Lee drove away from the gas station, leaving Connors with police. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Sixteen people were arrested; yet they do not know who fired the shots.
