Five-year-old Josiah Duncan kept asking his mom questions about the dirty, downtrodden stranger lingering outside the Alabama Waffle House where the boy and his mother had stopped to eat. “Where is his house? Where is his family? Where does he keep his groceries?” According to a post on the website Buzzpo, the answers Josiah’s mom gave him troubled the boy so much that he eventually asked his mother, Ava Faulk, if she could buy the man dinner.
So, Ava and Josiah invited the homeless stranger to come in and sit at a nearby table. After placing his order and before he could take the first bite of the hamburger he was served at the Prattville, Ala., eatery, the man was interrupted by Josiah. What the boy did next, according to his mom, got the attention of everyone in the small restaurant.
With 11 customers watching, Duncan sang a blessing that brought the homeless man, and everyone else, to tears.
“God our Father, God our Father, we thank you, for our many blessings, for our blessing. Amen, amen,” Duncan said.
