Current GOP frontrunner Donald Trump proved once again that his glib persona is finely honed. When he was asked what makes him so popular, he had the whole room in thrall with his answer.
Surrounded by African American supporters during a press conference in Atlanta on Saturday, someone in the audience asked Trump about the secret of his great success.
“What’s the secret of my popularity? Honestly? It’s my looks. I’m very handsome,” Trump said to the delight of the crowd. He finished, adding, “That’s the only thing I can think of right now.”

Since his entry into the race for the GOP nomination, Donald Trump has consistently topped all the other candidates in the polls, leading sometimes by 10 and 20 points. One of the most recent polls finds Trump leading the still crowded GOP field with 27 points. Dr. Ben Carson comes in second at 21 percent, with Texas Senator Ted Cruz coming in a distant third.
By Monday morning, Trump added to his criticism of President Obama’s 60 Minutes interview, telling Fox News’ Fox And Friends that Obama’s interview was “terrible” and “sad.”
“I watched his performance last night and I thought it was terrible,” Trump said Monday. “I thought it was sad, because everything’s negative. There’s nothing positive. It’s not like, ‘How come are we doing so well here? How did you do these great trade deals?’ Instead, we have a trade deal that’s a disaster.”

Trump did allow that Obama couldn’t outright say that The Donald might win the election. “He can’t say, ‘Well, I think he’s going to be the next president,’ in all fairness. But I thought it was a little bit sad because there’s so much negativity. It’s just very negative.”
Trump went on to slam the president for his failure to fix what is wrong with the country.
“I don’t get it: What’s going on in our country? It can be fixed–and in many cases very easily–but we have somebody that’s more worried about climate change than he is all of the problems that we have,” Trump said. “All he talks about is climate change, and that is not our problem folks.”
