It’s become a political football, so to speak, and a heated cultural battle — the clash between fans and foes of the name “Redskins”. Democrats in Congress have gotten into the game, urging the NFL team to drop the name these PC politicians claim is an offensive racial slur. Even the Washington Post editorial board has seen fit to weigh in, saying it will no longer use the term (though the paper’s sports writers apparently will still reference the Redskins).
Sarah Palin, on her facebook page last week, came out strongly in support of Mike Ditka’s defense of the name. Noted sports broadcasters Tony Dungy and Phil Simms have waded into the sticky debate.
But as all the accusatory rhetoric flies, some Redskins fans — Native Americans — are letting everyone know they not only like the name and team logo, they’re proud of them.

The website redskinsfacts.com has released a new video featuring a number of Native Americans of different tribes declaring that “Redskins is a Powerful Name”. You can watch the video above.
