VStv is a television station that serves the Midcoast and Central Maine population. According to VStv’s website, “VStv is the only full-service commercial TV station serving Midcoast and Central Maine exclusively.” One of the anchors of the morning news show is Chris Quimby. Quimby’s bio is also offered as information on the website.
Chris is the anchor of the VStv Morning Report and co-host of Soup du Jour. He also is a Christian comedian, speaker and writer. In addition to being the regular monthly humor columnist for Bangor Metro Magazine and a staff blogger on CelticsLife.com, he is also owner of Chris Quimby iPhone Repair and Nachotree Print & Digital Design…Chris lives in Brooks with his wife and two children.
Quimby’s recent on-air flub has gone viral. It happened when Quimby was going about his daily routine of presenting the news; he was signing off for the day when he uttered these words in his last sentence: “In Jesus’ name.” Seemingly surprised that he uttered the comment, he followed it up with a hearty, “Amen!” That’s when laughter overtook Quimby.
TheBlaze picked up the story and ran it, as did several other media outlets. Now, Quimby’s prayerful ending to his broadcast is national news. Even VStv has apparently gotten a kick out of his gaffe. On their Twitter page, they commented, “Morning Anchor Chris Quimby’s on-air blooper is on the front page of TheBlaze today! Way to go viral, Chris!”
It seems as though Quimby was praying subconsciously throughout his broadcast, and the words just came out at the end the way many Christians end their traditional prayers. Apparently, Quimby practiced what he preaches when he was caught “praying without ceasing.”
