Rapper Lil’ Wayne is accused of charging a referee and spitting on him at a “Stop the Violence” celebrity basketball game on Sunday.
Footage from the “Loose Cannon Celebrity Basketball Game,” which took place in St. Louis, shows Lil’ Wayne going onto the court and trying to go after a referee.
The rapper, who was coaching the “Young Money” team, was apparently so upset with a series of calls that he could not contain his emotions anymore.

Lil’ Wayne wasn’t the only one to jump off the bench; the whole team followed. Video shows a Young Money player, wearing a red jersey, confronting a referee who he has backed against a courtside table with his hands up. A short time later, Lil’ Wayne can be seen chasing the same referee from the court, with people jumping between the two men.
The rapper next appears to return to his bench with his team as a young boy shouts, “Lil’ Wayne. Stop the violence!”
The New York Post reports: “The game on Sunday night between Lil Wayne’s team and one headed by St. Louis rapper LooseCannon SLIM was a benefit for the ‘Put Down the Pistol’ campaign, an anti-gun violence initiative supported by various community groups in the city.”
