The wildly popular movie “American Sniper” is taking dead aim at a box office record — it’s set to pass “Saving Private Ryan” as the top grossing war film of all time in the United States.
The biopic about the U.S. military’s deadliest sniper, the late Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, had a bang-up week two in wide release — marking the best second weekend ever by an R-rated movie, according to the website imdb.com.
“In the process, ‘American Sniper’ hit the $200 million mark in domestic grosses just 10 days after earning nominations for Best Picture, Best Actor and four other Oscar nominations.”

Apparently still loving being in the bright spotlight of controversy over his dogged dissing of the movie, lefty filmmaker Michael Moore continued taking shots at “Sniper” with another series of sarcastic tweets, among them:
Tomorrow’s Sunday School (1) What Would Jesus Do? Oh, I know what he’d do — hide on top of a roof and shoot people in the back!

On her weekend Fox News show, Judge Jeanine Pirro fired back at Michael Moore and other Hollywood types who’ve been harshly critical of both the movie and the “true American hero” whose story it tells, Chris Kyle.
“I for one am sick and tired of people who aren’t worthy of carrying his backpack taking cheap shots at him and the other heroes who go to war – many returning with fewer limbs – to do what has to be done to protect the rest of us.”
Judge Jeanine went on to note that Moore’s incessant sniping at the film has, ironically, had a very positive effect on America’s cultural and political landscape.

“Michael, you woke a sleeping giant: the American spirit. For far too long suppressed by people like you, the Hollywood elite and the politicians who lie to us on a regular basis.”
