One of the four U.S. Marines shot to death Thursday in Chattanooga, Tenn. — the first victim of the cold-blooded slaughter to be publicly identified — was a Purple Heart recipient who survived two tours of duty in Iraq. According to Fox News, “Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Thomas Sullivan, 40, was gunned down in yesterday’s attack on two military facilities.”
Investigators say that a 24-year-old Muslim man was the gunman who opened fire on two military facilities before he was shot dead by police. Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez is said to have been born in Kuwait but educated in the United States. He reportedly lived only miles from where the attacks took place — attacks that the federal government has yet to declare were acts of terrorism.
On Fox and Friends Friday morning, Lt. Col. Allen West laid partial blame for the vulnerability of those two targeted military offices at the feet of the Obama administration. Despite recent calls by ISIS for jihad inside the U.S. and for radical Islamists to go after military and law enforcement personnel on their home soil, Washington has maintained the gun-free-zone policy at installations such as those attacked on Thursday.

Regarding President Obama’s ability to issue an executive order to immediately change the ability of U.S. military personnel to defend themselves and thus not be sitting ducks, West told the Fox and Friends hosts:
“He is the commander-in-chief, and how many more of our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines have to lose their lives here in the United States of America, the place where they’re supposed to be able to have respite away from a combat zone, before he takes action?”
