A 17-year-old high school student who collapsed while running in gym class earlier this month told reporters he had a divine experience.
Zack Clements, who attends and plays football at Victory Life Academy in Brownwood, Texas, was without a heartbeat for about 20 minutes, according to KTVT.
When medical staff got a pulse, he was airlifted to Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth. Clements would wake up several days later in the intensive care unit.

“When I was out those 20 minutes, I saw a man who had long ruffled hair and kind of a thick beard, and it didn’t take me long to realize that that was Jesus,” Clements said.
I went up to him and he put his hand on my shoulder and told me everything would be alright.
“For him to wake up and tell us something he experienced like that. It’s just you can’t explain it. It’s not humanly possible to explain it,” said his father, Billy Clements.
His mother Teresa has also accepted the fact that it might have been divine intervention that saved her son. “I’m just glad He decided to let me have my baby back,” said Teresa Clements.
Zack’s aunt created a YouCaring page to help raise money for medical bills. The front of the page reads in part:
Zack was running sprints yesterday (05-05-15) & suddenly collapsed, he had no heart beat for over 20 minutes. He was life flighted from his hometown of Brownwood to Cook’s in Fort Worth! Did I mention yesterday was also his 17th birthday???
BUT GOD IS SO GOOD!!
Zack has been coughing against the intubation tubes, his pupils are reacting to light & this morning he opened his eyes, but because they have his temp down low to prevent swelling on his brain they have to keep him sedated.
At this point the Dr’s are not sure what even caused this to happen.
Billy & Teresa aren’t asking for ‘poor pitiful me’s’. They are simply just asking for prayers for their AMAZING son!
