10-year-old Shay Doyle introduced Donald Trump at a campaign event in Iowa Tuesday and is making quite an impression.
“I first started watching him on The Apprentice, and he sounded like a really good guy. He had a great personality. So I started watching him, and then I started studying him, and then he quickly became my idol,” he explained to CNN’s Brooke Baldwin Wednesday. “I think that he’s one of those people, instead of going out and telling everyone what he will do, he’ll just go and do it,” Doyle told the crowd at Hoyt Sherman Place in Des Moines Tuesday, The Huffington Post reported. The event followed Trump’s presidential announcement in New York City.

Doyle told Baldwin he first met Trump on April 26 of this year and described the encounter as “amazing,” recounting how the real-estate mogul gave him advice, and “how there was absolutely no other feeling in the world.” When Baldwin asked Doyle what sort of advice Trump offered, the young man said: “Do what you love, not what your mom and dad love, but do what you love, and you will be happy.” Doyle explained that his mother “was almost crying” after hearing that advice.
The anchor asked Doyle what advice he would give the newly-minted presidential candidate in return. “Don’t take it personally. It just happens in presidential elections,” he said. “I mean, Hillary Clinton got a lot of static last year. Jeb Bush is getting static from Trump. Hillary is getting static from Trump. It just happens.”

Doyle also said that when he grows up, he either wants to be “the president, a lawyer, or a businessman.” He even has a Twitter account, @MrKidTrump, which as of about 1:30 PM EDT had just short of 70 followers. Here are two compliments he has received:
