Barack Obama has faced mounting criticism in the days since last Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris, with many Americans lamenting his reluctance to address the war on radical Islam with a new, more effective strategy. During a recent exchange on Fox News Channel’s The Five, Jesse Watters recounted Obama’s response to the carnage, describing it at one point as “crazy.”
He began by admitting he was “actually surprised” to see any reaction at all from the president.
“Obama usually golfs and flies to fundraisers after terrorist attacks,” Watters asserted. “This time, I think he released five guys from Gitmo and then showed up late to a moment of silence for the victims.”

In a reference to another Parisian massacre, January’s attack on the staff of satire magazine Charlie Hebdo, he added: “I’m surprised that sending James Taylor over last time didn’t really help.”
Watters then criticized Obama’s priorities, opining that he has “been so distracted fighting the war on cops he forgot that there was a war on terror.”
As for the rhetoric the Obama administration continues to advance regarding America’s approach to ISIS, he continued:
Obama is lying to us. And that’s why he got so testy with the press; because the press usually just shines his shoes. He says we have ISIS contained. We don’t. He says we have a strategy. We don’t. He says [the Paris attack is] a ‘setback.’ No, it’s not, because you have to be winning to have a setback.
