One can only imagine the memorable moment — to bolster her chances of winning the White House, Hillary Clinton appears as a guest on ABC’s The View, where newly installed co-host and former White House intern Monica Lewinsky has the chance to chat up the wife of the president with whom she had a notorious affair.
“I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky,” was Bill Clinton’s infamous, finger-wagging denial of the affair with the 22-year-old.
Couldn’t possibly happen, you say? Well, Mrs. Clinton may not put The View on her appearance schedule, but Monica Lewinsky might become the newest face on the set of the ratings-challenged TV show.

According to The Daily Mail, Barbara Walters, the broadcasting icon who created the multi-host program nearly 20 years ago, believes Lewinsky, now 41, would be a “runaway success” who could attract great guests and help make the show competitive once again.
Last year when discussing Lewinsky with David Letterman, he asked her about Monica joining The View. It looked as though the late night host was reading her mind and she stuttered, ‘I think it would be great if she were on The View. I wouldn’t expect it tomorrow.’
Lately, the once high-flying show has suffered through a revolving-door series of come-and-go hosts, including Lisa Ling, Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy, Rosie Perez, and, of course, the other Rosie — Rosie O’Donnell (whom we discussed in an earlier April Fools post).
The Daily Mail article notes that Barbara Walters has been “like a godmother” to Lewinsky ever since their interview following the White House sex scandal, with Barbara telling David Letterman that Monica is “an intelligent, nice woman.”
By clicking on the video above, you can watch the 2014 Letterman segment in which he asks Walters about possibly putting Lewinsky on The View long before this news ever came out.
