Attendees of the Congressional Black Caucus admitted to MRC-TV star Dan Joseph that the same standards applied in school lunchrooms should not be applied to government welfare programs like EBT, SNAP, etc.
The conference was held last month at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Participants Joseph interviewed said they liked Michelle Obama, and like the new school lunch initiative she championed, but not when its standards were applied to welfare programs. One participant even said the food in the lunchrooms was “not very good.”
“I think it’s a good idea; however, the food manufactured for the children is not very good.”
This appeared to be the consensus among all of Joseph’s interviewees, save one.
Many schools across the country have expressed concern over the newly implemented regulations of the 2010 Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act, including in so-called deep red states such as Oklahoma and even in ‘blue states’ like Vermont.
