This one falls squarely into the category: “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up.”
In an attempt to defend his boss as trustworthy, Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager just proved himself to be as untrustworthy as they come by telling a total falsehood on national television. With a straight face and a cocky confidence that his words would sell the lie, Robby Mook went on the CBS show Face The Nation Sunday and declared, “No poll shows that voters don’t trust Hillary Clinton.”
Either Mook was being completely dishonest with the American public or he is completely out of the loop of recent polling that shows most people clearly think Hillary is untrustworthy. As National Journal has pointed out, a CNN poll a couple of weeks ago showed that 57% of voters surveyed believe Mrs. Clinton is not to be trusted. And an ABC News/Washington Post poll around the same time painted a similarly bleak picture for the top Democrat’s trust factor, with 52% of those poll respondents saying Hillary is not honest and trustworthy.

There’s even a third recent survey that has found the public is not buying the argument that Hillary Clinton can be trusted. As Business Insider noted in early May of an Associated Press poll:
Clinton’s struggles to explain her email practices while in government, along with questions about the Clinton Foundation and Republican criticism of her openness, wealth and trustworthiness seem to have struck a nerve in the public’s perception of the dominant Democratic figure in the 2016 campaign. In the survey, 61 percent said “honest” describes her only slightly well or not at all.
So certainly, the 35-year-old manager of Hillary’s 2016 presidential campaign must have known better than to try to pull a fast one with the truth; yet he did it — he said not once, but twice, that no poll shows Hillary to be untrustworthy.
Another of the Clinton surrogates, Donna Brazile, also went on TV over the weekend to try to claim that there’s no problem with Hillary’s trust factor among voting Americans. Breitbart News reports that Brazile’s attempt to defend Clinton was met with jeers by her fellow panelists on CNN’s State of the Union.
But it was Robby Mook’s trip into the depths of denial world that drew the flag on Sunday for the most flagrant foul against truth-telling on the day after his candidate re-launched her presidential campaign in New York. By clicking on the video above, you can watch Hillary’s top campaign official show exactly why trustworthiness is, and will continue to be, a top issue for the leading Democrat with her eyes on the White House.
