You won’t hear this in the Leftist media—for the first time, the American people support sending ground troops back into the Middle East to confront the threat from ISIS. According to a new poll by CBS News, 65 percent of Americans see ISIS as a major threat, up from 58 percent.
With concern about ISIS growing, support for the use of U.S. ground troops in the fight against ISIS has risen. For the first time, a majority of Americans (57 percent) favor the U.S. sending ground troops into Iraq and Syria to fight ISIS.
The increase in our citizens willing to confront ISIS directly is not just among the Republican Party; it is an across-the-board, bipartisan response. Republicans, Dems, and independents have all seen an increase in support for sending troops into Syria and Iraq.
Support for sending U.S. ground troops to fight ISIS has risen among all partisans, but particularly among Democrats and independents. Back in October, 56 percent of Democrats and 49 percent of independents disapproved of using ground troops – now 50 percent of Democrats approve and 53 percent of independents favor using ground troops.
It seems the creators of the ISIS PR campaign are getting their wish—a direct confrontation with the West. I wonder if their calculation is that they can win a fight with America as our commander-in-chief is weak and will not have the stomach for a fight. They must believe they have two years to cement their gains before Obama leaves office.
This is a very dangerous time for America and our children.
