Now that Ebola has officially been reported in America, and after the death of Liberian national Thomas Eric Duncan, airports in America will begin mandatory Ebola screenings for all passengers coming from Ebola-stricken countries.
The screenings will begin this weekend and will be done using a hand-held infrared thermometer aimed at passenger’s temples, which will limit the amount of contact of potentially infected passengers.
“This is a sea change from what is currently happening,” CNN correspondent Elizabeth Cohen said.
Cohen said that after she came back from Liberia on September 27, the screening was almost absent. And she and her videographer were in Liberia to cover Ebola.
