What was supposed to be a celebration of marriage for the Palin family has now apparently become just a reunion of family and friends. In a shocking message just posted to social media, Sarah Palin tells her 4.4 million Facebook friends that the scheduled wedding of her daughter Bristol to Afghanistan War hero and Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer will not take place on May 23rd.
Bristol and Dakota couldn’t be more thankful for the love and support of family and friends over the past months while preparing for their wedding. They have informed loved ones that unfortunately the announced celebration planned for May 23 will not be held.
The former Alaska governor adds that family and friends are still welcome to gather at Meyer’s “old Kentucky home” for fellowship and bar-b-que. But the planned union of Bristol Palin and the highly decorated former Marine will not be part of the festivities. Apparently, the recent brouhaha over Meyer’s previous marriage has taken a toll on the couple’s relationship.
The website Inquisitr joined in the melee of frantic reporting over the last few days, suggesting that Dakota Meyer had never been legally divorced from a woman he supposedly married some seven years ago.
Bristol Palin’s fiance, Dakota Meyer, is lying about his past according to a friend of Cassandra Wain, a woman that Meyer allegedly married back in May of 2008. Based upon these recent allegations, some rumors are flying around that Bristol Palin’s wedding date may have been cancelled since she apparently has been missing a wedding ring.
While not saying that the wedding between Meyer and her daughter is actually cancelled, Sarah Palin does make it clear in her Facebook message that the long-anticipated May 23rd ceremony will not be held. The one-time GOP vice presidential candidate also offers a message from Bristol regarding the supposed divorce complications surrounding her fiancé — a message “clearing up rumors that tabloids salivate over.”
Regarding salacious headlines in recent days about “secret wives”, Dakota and I discussed our past relationships prior to our engagement. Dakota was legally divorced years ago, as any good reporter could and should have disclosed to readers. As usual, false stories and dramatically written headlines begging controversy should be disregarded, and we have faith that our privacy will be respected at this time by those with decency. Thank you! – Bristol
Along with her startling announcement that the Bristol-Dakota wedding is off, Sarah Palin posted a graphic suggesting that “off” doesn’t mean the wedding will not, at some point, go on.
