Mosab Hassan Yousef is the son of a Hamas founder. He claims to have grown up hearing about what their ideologies are. He was in line to be a leader.
But eventually, Yousef defected, converted to Christianity, and was disowned by his father, according to the Times of Israel.
Now, he is speaking out about the truth of Hamas, and what they are attempting to do within Gaza. He spoke with CNN’s Don Lemon:

“Hamas does not care about the lives of Palestinians, does not care about the lives of Israelis, or Americans; they don’t care about their own lives,” Yousef said. “They consider dying for sake of their ideology a way of worship.”
When asked if there could be a way for peaceful living between Hamas and Israel, Yousef said it was an impossibility because they are aiming for more than just Israel.
“Hamas is not seeking coexistence and compromise; Hamas is seeking conquest,” he added. “The destruction of the state of Israel is not Hamas’ final destination. Hamas’ final destination is building… an Islamic state on the rubble of every other civilization. These are the ultimate goals of the movement,” he concluded.
