I recently introduced you all to a 501 (c) (3) charity organization called the “Fallen Soldiers March”. Their goal is to raise funds in order to purchase and train service dogs for our veterans who need them. Just recently, Jim Retzke, President of the Fallen Soldiers March, and his organization have launched the “Smooch Your Pooch” campaign. Anyone who has a dog knows about the unconditional love that dogs give their owners, and which the owners reciprocate. Jim’s concept is simple. Similar to the ice bucket challenge that recently swept the nation, Jim is asking that you simply Smooch Your Pooch and place the photo up on social media. The person posting the picture donates ten dollars to the organization and challenges five other dog lovers to do the same. If you choose not to accept the challenge, Jim asks you to donate twenty dollars. You can donate at the following link: https://fundly.com/fallen-soldiers-march-smooch-your-pooch-challenge?ft_src=fbshare
Most of us have dogs just because of the joy they bring to our lives. Wouldn’t it be great if our fallen soldiers had a dog that would make their lives just a little bit easier? They gave of themselves to protect us, can we not do the same for them, and get a nice doggie kiss to boot?
