As Western Journalism reported earlier today, heavily armed gunmen heard to be shouting “Allahu Akbar” stormed the Paris offices of the satirical newspaper “Charlie Hebdo,” slaughtering at least 12 people, including two French police officers.
Eyewitnesses to the bloody attack also reported hearing the masked men shout that they had “avenged the prophet.”
The newspaper has often published articles and images lampooning radical Islam and its supporters.

ABC News reports that the broad-daylight assault by two or three black-clad gunmen operating with military precision was France’s deadliest terror attack in decades.
The Islamic State group has repeatedly threatened to attack France. Just minutes before the attack, Charlie Hebdo had tweeted a satirical cartoon of that extremist group’s leader giving New Year’s wishes.
According to CBS News, the attackers seen getting into a small black getaway car later abandoned that vehicle and hijacked another:
…in which they are believed to have left central Paris. It was not clear where the third suspect went, as he was not seen making a getaway in the black car after the police officer was shot.
Among several amateur videos recorded on cell phones during the attack was one that showed the moment the terrorists armed with automatic weapons executed a police officer who may have already been wounded in the gun battle, lying on the sidewalk outside the newspaper offices.
