Right after he learned something that amplified his anger at the Obama White House, Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) went on the Mark Levin radio show with a tough message for his colleagues in Congress:
Stop “cowering and hiding under our desks”; instead, says Sessions, go ahead and use “the power of the purse” to block Obama’s executive amnesty affecting close to 5 million illegals.
What the Alabama Republican had just learned that further stiffened his resolve to stop the president’s unilateral move to change immigration law is that the administration is hiring 1,000 new people to process amnesty requests from illegal immigrants.

In the interview with Levin, as reported on breitbart.com, Sessions explained that cutting off the funding for Obama’s executive order could “absolutely” be accomplished without doing what many GOP lawmakers and advisers fear — shutting down the federal government:
…adding “in the Defense budget it’s very frequent, Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI) said this happens all the time, we say ‘well you can spend money on this weapon system or this program, but you can’t spend money on that one.’ That’s a part of the power of the purse.”
