Iowa Democrats gathered this past weekend for Senator Tom Harkin’s 37th annual, and final, Steak Fry fundraiser featuring former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The crowd of 5,000 cheered for Clinton while wearing “Ready for Hillary” buttons. During Senator Harkin’s speech, he tied Hillary directly to ObamaCare by telling the crowd that her fingerprints were all over that legislation.
“One of things that Hillary always worked on was advancing this concept, this idea, that healthcare should be a right and not a privilege in this country. And so, Hillary was not there when the Affordable Care Act was signed into law, she, of course, was Secretary of State. But I want you all to know, that her fingerprints are all over that legislation. It would not have happened but for her strenuous advocacy in that committee all those years she was there to get a healthcare bill passed in Congress.”
If Hillary was looking to distance herself from Obama, the retiring five-term Iowa Senator just put her at the “scene of the crime.”
