During an event at Tufts University on Monday, Democrat Senator and possible presidential contender Elizabeth Warren said it was “fair” to compare Israel’s military action in Gaza to the Nazis’ extermination of Jews during the Holocaust.
The Weekly Standard reports on Warren’s remark that came in response to a comment by an audience member — an activist who identified herself as Eva Moseley.
Moseley claimed to be a Holocaust refugee concerned that Jews in Israel were doing to Palestinians in Gaza what Nazis in Germany did to Jewish citizens. The Weekly Standard says that Moseley has a history of anti-Israel activism:
Earlier this year, the activist, Eva Steiner Moseley, signed on to a petition “Unequivocally Condemning Israel’s Ongoing Massacre In Gaza,” which it called “The Latest Chapter In More Than A Century Of Zionist Colonialism, Dispossession, Ethnic Cleaning, Racism, And Genocide — Including Israel’s Very Establishment Through The Uprooting And Displacement Of Over 750,000 Palestinians.”
Elizabeth Warren, who apparently believes the comparison between Israel’s attempt to stop Hamas attacks from the Gaza Strip and Nazi Germany’s mass slaughter of Jews is a valid one, has often been mentioned as a possible Democrat candidate for president in 2016.
