“Those who cannot bravely face danger, are the slaves of their attackers.” –Aristotle (384-322 BC)
For a guy who is so against war, so afraid of conflict, so eager for peace at any price while being such a bad negotiator and such a dove; for a politician on the Left who promised to end two wars and close Gitmo, no matter what the cost to our national security; for a President who follows on heels of a President so loved by America’s troops, Obama sure loves war. He loves war against the American people and our (beloved) military.
Recent news of our President’s shameful treatment and absolute disrespect for our US military has confirmed what all great Americans most feared: the man some low-information voters elected president is actively anti-American. It can no longer be disputed. It is inarguable. It is confirmed.

What kind of man goes around glad-handing the troops and veterans when his poll numbers or campaign need that, ignores them when he doesn’t, and betrays and back-stabs them whenever he sees fit? Not much of one is the answer.
Well now, Obama’s oft-hidden, occasionally obvious loathing of our military and veterans has become recognizable to all Americans. Finally, all that Obama acrimony is coming home to roost. Our military and veterans are now coming together to return the salvos of disrespect and finally begin active disdain for this Coward-in-Chief. And coward is the precise and perfect word for Obama, who like Hitler did versus Stalin, has just opened a whole new front of battle he cannot possible defend or survive: that of him versus our American military and veterans.
“A young man who does not have what it takes to perform military service is not likely to have what it takes to make a living, Today’s military rejects include tomorrow’s hard core unemployed.” –John F. Kennedy (1917-1963)

Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to work with and get to know some of our great US military and their families though my “American Hero Stories” columns in The Huffington Post. I have heard first-hand the disappointment, then incredulousness, followed by the rage and anger at the betrayal by an American President of our troops, families, and vets. It’s shameful. Disgraceful. And unconditionally indefensible.
“This always confuses liberals, that Conservatives like the military and don’t like the bureaucracy. That’s because the military has their guns pointed out and the bureaucracy has them pointed in.” –Grover Norquist (1956- )
And it makes me proud to witness the American military’s recognition that this President is against them and to see them fight back. The American civilian public is joining them in record numbers and pace, so there is hope.

“I am concerned for the security of our great nation; not so much because of any threat from without; but because of insidious forces from within.” –General Douglas MacArthur (1880-1964)
Let me recap the horrendous atrocities and terrible treatment that Obama has inflicted on our brave American heroes, young and old:
**The recent Veteran’s Administration scandal is only the final straw in Obama’s now fully visible hatred for war, the US military, and America herself. Mistreating those actively risking their lives right now is bad enough. But betraying those elders who already risked their lives and families and sacrificed so much for our flag and liberties is totally unforgivable and lacking in any explanation possible other than America is under attack from Obama. And his worst, most devastating targets are our veterans who need our support, attention, and care for their medical and living homecoming.
“The willingness with which our young people are likely to serve in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional to how they perceive the Veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their nation.” –General George Washington (1732-1799)

Obama said (to get elected): “So long as I’m Commander-in-Chief, we will sustain the strongest military the world has ever known. When you take off the uniform, we will serve you as well you’ve served us – because no one who fights for this country should have to fight for a job, or a roof over their head, or the care that they need when they come home.”
Well, that was an outright lie on multiple fronts. Count One of the indictment: Nobody could say that Obama has given us the “strongest military”–quite the opposite; he’s presided over the attempted wrecking of our armed forces. Count Two: His betrayal of American veterans has put proof to the bigger lies in his administration. If Obama will lie —and I mean directly and purposely lie to the American people—about these two important promises, then he will lie about anything to us, no matter how imperative.
Now Obama and his shady bunch of America-haters are taking their sweet time about fixing the VA, while our veterans die.
They’re stonewalling the Congressional investigation, as they’ve done on so many other such attempts to find the truth about other scandals; and they’re actively covering up and hiding key information and evidence that Congress and the American people have every right to have and know.
Taking this VA emergency and retooling it into an opportunity to make a pork-filled budget request is how Dems and Obama see this, not in terms of the human-suffering of real people and families—our veterans and their families. “You never want a crisis to go to waste,” Rahm Emanuel famously said. And they don’t.
I’m hoping that this scandal, among all the other awful travesties that Obama has wrought on us, will bring him down. It certainly should.
**Benghazi. While great American Congressman Trey Gowdy is now on the case and will do his all to bring down this prevaricating, arrogant government for what they did in Benghazi, it’s not enough.
This is only one front in the crucial removal of a runaway president. This “Runaway President” needs immediate removal. Obama’s as dirty as anyone can be on this one, and Benghazi should be used as only one centerpiece of our campaign for his removal. For our troops in particular, Benghazi was a rude awakening to Obama’s secretive hatred of our military but a necessary one. Imagine how our military families felt.
**The Bergdahl “Traitor Trade.” When our troops risking their lives in Afghanistan were asked to look for and risk their lives further looking for this defector Bergdahl, that was bad enough. But to have hundreds more American troops killed and injured looking for this Muslim sympathizer/collaborator and then trade him for five convicted American-murderers and, finally, send them right back home to Afghanistan to fight against and kill our troops again was insane. Our troops, their families, and decent, honest American citizens cannot believe this one. The Bergdahl outrage proves for all good people to see precisely how wicked, twisted, and hellbent on destroying America Obama really is.
**Obama’s recent West Point graduation speech. Awful, confused, and confusing is how I describe this idiotic lecture on ‘Obama-ism.’
Watch as CNN so beautifully synopsizes the 45-minute Obama calamity.
Proving that America and our military have had it, 75% of the graduating cadets refused to stand for the President’s welcome—apparently, he was most unwelcome. This was unprecedented. Compare the startling difference between Obama’s reception and that of George W. Bush after eight long years of war. Even then, at the end of eight long years of war, the love the cadets have for Bush was palpable. And the derision the cadets have for Obama was just as clear.
So different was the panty-waisted military strategy of Obama to Bush’s, that I nearly fell over when Bush said in the above video, “We must stay on the offensive. We must be determined … and we must be relentless … to do our duty and protect the American people from harm.” Juxtapose Bush’s plan to the absent-plan chaos of Obama, and we can all see nakedly why the world has plunged into bedlam and greater wars after 6 years of weak/absent Obama leadership.
“During Vietnam, I was in college, enjoying my student deferment. The government wisely felt that, in my case, military service was less important than completing my studies to prepare me for my chosen career: comedian.” –Al Franken, former SNL writer now US Senator (1951- )
**The Obama-imposed US military “budget cuts.” He calls them “sequestration” and blames them on Republicans. Obama invented that word. But the swindle is clear: Obama is defunding our military to make America weaker.
These stunning financial cuts to our vital American military—and don’t forget these same cuts are gutting all our intelligence agencies too—have the real, serious effect of irreversible altering our society at large. Its trickle-down effect on the already staggering US economy is not to be overlooked. The recent news about 1,100 Army captains receiving ‘pink slips’ that they are out of a job soon, while they are fighting in Afghanistan, is atrocious. The writing is on the wall and has now been fully translated: this President is firing the most experienced wartime officers as part of his hidden strategy to crucify our American military.
“I will insist on a military so powerful no one would ever think of challenging it.” –Mitt Romney (1947- )
Obama’s military will be challenged by ‘tin-pot’ dictators and third-world militias just like Boko Haram, against whom we could not even be bothered to wage more than a Twitter’ hashtag campaign to save hundreds of young girls. That was a clear harbinger of things to come for America and her image abroad.
And not giving, but actually taking away, the tools these brave American soldiers need is high treason.
So our brave military struggles on valiantly in the face of extreme adversity from an unexpected place: their Commander-in-Chief.
At the very minimum, we Americans should be able to elect a President who can faithfully fulfill the number one priority for being President: protecting America herself and Americans abroad, protecting our borders, fighting terrorism, and keeping our military well-funded and strong.
Obama has done none of these things. In fact, miserably, he’s harmed and ruined the core principles with which the Founding Fathers and framers of our Constitution were so centrally concerned.
“We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.” –Barack Hussein Obama (1961-)
Is that so, Mr. President? In that one quote, Obama has exposed himself as the single worst and dangerous president our Founding Fathers imagined: one who would weaken and defund our country’s military, demoralize them, and then build up a separate militia, a “Presidential Militia” if you will, to be used to usurp and outright seize power–to declare martial law and complete a takeover of America.
“Over grown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicious to liberty, and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to republican liberty.” –General George Washington (1732-1799)
They were right to worry about this kind of stealthy Obama junta. It’s a danger to everything this country stands for, and it needs a lightning-quick squelching. Washington would be the man to do it. Oh, do we need him now.
