Rolling the credits for President Barack Obama’s fund-raising campaign chronicles a star-studded cast of A-list Hollywood and TV stars, as well as other entertainers, pitching thousands into his campaign coffers, according to the second-quarter Federal Election Commission report.
Top-billing stars among the more than 550,00 donors to Obama’s second-quarter fundraising include George Clooney, Michael Douglas, Sharon Stone, Michael Keaton, and Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson, Politico reports. Also pitching in were filmmaker Steven Spielberg and his wife, actress Kate Capshaw, as wells as Jennifer Garner and Gwyneth Paltrow, who contributed under their married names — Affleck and Martin, respectively.

“30 Rock” actor Alec Baldwin, who has been mentioned as a potential candidate for New York City Mayor, also coughed up coins, as well as several other TV names, including Tony Shalhoub of “Monk;” Jane Lynch of “Glee;” Dennis Haysbert, who played a president on “24” and now has a lucrative gig pitching Allstate Insurance; and sci-fi stars Scott Bakula and Richard Dean Anderson.contributors include stars such as Vanessa Williams, Anthony Edwards of “ER,” John Cho of “Star Trek,” Jennifer Morrison of “House,” Christa Miller of “Cougar Town,” and Brenda Strong of “Desperate Housewives.”
But WAIT, as they say on TV commercials with B-list actors, there are more on the list of contributors to Obama’s record-breaking nearly $86 million in donations: comedians Will Ferrell and Carl Reiner, and Yeardley Smith of “The Simpsons.”
