In a press conference Thursday, New England Patriots Head Coach Bill Belchick denied any involvement or knowledge of his team’s football being deflated in the so-called ‘deflategate’ scandal.
One issue: He gave the presser in front of ads for Gillette Flexball, the company’s latest razor technology. Gillette is a prominent sponsor of the team, holding naming rights to the Patriots’ stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

“I have no explanation for what happened,” Belichick said. ABC News noted National League Football (NFL) balls must be inflated to no less than 12.5 pounds per square inch. The Patriots’ coach added later:
Any deflation would then take us under that specification limit. Knowing that now, in the future, we will certainly inflate the footballs above that low level to account for any possible change during the game.
