National Guard soldier John Vorrath was stationed in the Middle East when his wife gave birth to their daughter, Charlotte. Although he was able to witness her birth on an iPad, it didn’t come close to being able to hold his wife and daughter in his arms.
After receiving clearance to visit home, Sergeant Vorrath traveled for 22 hours to Iowa and surprised his family in the maternity ward. His little girl was only 1-day-old when he held her for the first time!
The reunion was, naturally, very beautiful and emotional. It’s not surprising that it has received nearly 2.5 million views since being uploaded to YouTube by a family friend.
