Tea Party candidate Chris McDaniel wrote in a fundraising pitch that the Mississippi run-off race between him and Thad Cochran was a “sham, plain and simple.” He want to contest the election by raising money for a legal challenge. McDaniel alleged the wrongs that had happened on the campaign trail:
Across the state, Democrats took to the polls to vote in the Republican primary to make sure that Thad Cochran could return to Washington to keep pushing for reckless spending in the senate.
We’ve already found thousands of irregularities in the voting process. According to Mississippi state law, Democrats who voted in the Democratic primary cannot vote in the Republican runoff; and that is exactly what happened.
Jordan Cochran, who represents the Cochran campaign, said, “This is pure sore loserism.” What do you think? Was the election stolen from Tea Party challenger Chris McDaniel? Or was it a fair run-off between the two Republican candidates?
