Fox News contributor Kirsten Powers slammed Obama’s administration Thursday saying there are too many people around Obama “who suck up to him” and calling them “Kool-Aid drinkers.” Powers has worked for the Democrats in the past.
On the Fox News Channel’s program Outnumbered Thursday, Powers made the following statement about the Obama Administration:
“I really think that [President Obama] is the problem. I don’t think it’s the staff. John Kerry actually hasn’t been there that long, he shouldn’t be that tired. I think that the President tends to surround himself with people who suck up to him…
“I think he has a lot of sort of Kool-Aid drinkers who think everything he does is right, and I think he needs to…be able to have people there to confront him.”
Powers’ sentiments tend to reflect the country’s attitude toward President Obama. Gallup’s daily tracking poll show’s 52 percent of Americans disapprove of how the President is doing his job, while only 43 percent approve. This is based on a three day average taken between October 27-29.
As recently as last December, 58 percent of Americans approved of the President’s job performance, while only 36 percent disapproved.

Larry Sabato of the University of Virginia Center for Politics wrote Thursday that due to the President’s low approval ratings, “It’s just getting harder and harder to envision a plausible path for the Democrats to retain control of the Senate.”
“Ultimately, with just a few days to go before the election, the safe bet would be on Republicans eventually taking control of the upper chamber.”
