“Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold” (Matthew 24:12)
Yet another wicked shooter, this time in Roseburg, Oregon, has further corroborated the TRUTH of Jesus’ prophecy. How much more can we take?
“If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.” (Matthew 24:22)
And Jesus continued …
“For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” (Matthew 24:38-39)
In those words, spoken just about 2000 years ago, Jesus was detailing what things would be like when He returns. It will be ‘business as usual,’ and his sudden appearance will come as a shock to most people. In several passages in Scripture, our Lord points out the fact that, in the last days of this planet, most everything will be OUT OF CONTROL – where we now find ourselves.
Because God made no robots but created only freethinking people equipped with hearts and wills entirely their own, He will never violate our liberty to decide things for ourselves. We will therefore be doing whatever we please, right up until His return. He will allow that because that’s His nature – the nature of real love. Love never forces anyone into anything their heart doesn’t desire.
Now, for a moment, let’s imagine what it was like for Noah in those days, thousands of years ago. He and his family were living in a place probably much like a hot and dry Arizona desert. And yet they were building a wooden ship the size of several gymnasiums. It’s easy to envision the locals daily making fun of them as they worked on that huge boat. After all, the nearest lake, of any size, was probably several days travel from them. They didn’t have a trailer large enough for it – and they certainly didn’t own a truck powerful enough to pull it there. All the same, God had told Noah to build an ark. He’d told him he was about to flood the entire earth. And why? It was because people then had become as determinedly sick as they are fast becoming today.

But according to a richly subsidized, modern science, that whole story is phony.
Proponents of evolution have been hard at work for years in attempting to discredit the Bible’s account of the flood. They claim that Moses’ narrative (Genesis, chapters 6-9) is just mythology made up by stupid men fumbling to explain away that immense cataclysm (which the geological record perfectly documents). And evolutionists, in their own desperation, attempt to explain it away as – ‘maybe,’ ‘perhaps,’ ‘possibly’ – a comet strike (or other non-sequitur suppositions).
Since science, in the late nineteenth century, was diabolically infected with Darwinian fantasy, it has allowed itself to be prostituted as a handy tool in the effort to discredit God’s word. Even though the Bible had fully informed us of the flood – long before we were displaying bits of its evidences in museums – Satan couldn’t afford to allow man’s knowledge of God to gain any additional momentum from all the natural proof which is still lying around. And so, the facts had to be rearranged and obscured.

All sorts of dizzying, impressive-sounding ‘scientific’ fables have been invented in accommodating fallen mankind’s battle to essentially silence his conscience. If the Bible can be made to appear as merely a politically incorrect collection of superstitious fairy tales, then man will throw it (and God) out the window. And that strategy is working like a clock. Now, people are content to dismiss the truths of creation, the flood, the miracles and warnings of God and His Son’s resurrection, confidently leaning upon the presumptuous guesses of a viciously biased and unscientific ‘scientific’ community.
Nevertheless, just as Paul said, “… since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse” (Romans 1:20) So, for an introductory lesson in creationism, the next time you’re on a daytime flight to Vegas or the west coast, look out your window to the desert below, and see for yourself what God’s receding flood did to the dirt down there. Seeing is believing. And corroborating the Bible’s flood is just that simple. The whole world, as Paul just said, testifies to the truth of God – because it is the Truth.
But aside from keeping Noah and his livestock dry for more than a half year on that water, the ark was also intended as a living allegory of the covenant God would one day give the world through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus. Both achievements have much in common – but, principally, like Noah’s watertight ark, Jesus Christ is the only safe conveyance God has prepared for anyone who wants to stay alive – this time, forever. All those who will come aboard by repentance and faith into Jesus WILL BE SAVED. Once truly inside that ‘ark,’ you are guaranteed safe passage to the eternal life for which we were all originally created.

Beyond that, just like unique Noah and his family, outspoken Christians today are commonly despised and regarded as laughingstock due to their persistence in heralding and actually living out the express desires of their Heavenly Father (which is just what Jesus did). Like their ark-building predecessors, twenty-first century believers are dismissed as nuts because they are living in readiness for something that hasn’t yet appeared. It’s no more mysterious or difficult than heeding a weather forecast. All the foretold conditions are in place, and recognizing them is a no-brainer.
One day, probably sooner than we expect, that ‘storm’ will arrive. Just like the mocking crowd whose laughter turned into tears as they were treading water around that formerly motionless ark, modern-day people will be horrified when the reality of the return of the glorified King Jesus hits home in that final hour. Thousands of years ago, as the sky began to darken, the Bible says, GOD closed the door of the ark, and sealed Noah and his charge securely inside. As that ridiculous-looking monstrosity began to float and move, doubtless, those left outside were horrified – desperate and clawing for passage. But it was too late.
When the One who made us all comes back to claim His own, every excuse will fall on deaf ears. The scoffers will be just as desperate then as were the hopeless swimmers in Noah’s day.
I often wonder about all the ‘scientists’ who’ve helped the unsaved feel so justified in their unbelief and autonomy. Will those same experts be available to reassure, and field questions from, their disillusioned following when the fires of hell are lit? I wonder how the abortionist will console himself when he finally admits that the babies he killed were not just wriggling lumps of protoplasm but precious little ones for whom Christ died? I wonder what jurist the reprobate, cocky liberal activists will then hire to reverse the decisions of God’s final and supreme court? They may as well appeal to a brick.

Soon, this world – for each individual, at least – will expire. Tomorrow (as we have heard before) is guaranteed to no one. TODAY is the opportunity to take the time to prayerfully listen to your heart. Give God the opportunity to prepare you for the coming storm. The GOOD NEWS is that, while there is still time, there is still hope!
“Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.” (Hebrews 3:15) And, again, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
