Israeli journalist Zvika Klein exposed an ugly world of anti-semitism on the streets of Paris when he secretly recorded himself walking around Paris dressed as a Jew. His 90-second video shows Muslims spitting on, heckling, intimidating, and harassing him.
All he did was wear a kippah (skull cap) on his head and tzitzit (knotted ritual tassels) on his shirt and walk around neighborhoods, but it prompted an anchor from France’s Channel 4 News to ask him if he thought he was being provocative.
“I don’t think it should be a provocation, because this is the way I dress. I wear a kippah everyday, everywhere I go – except for certain places in Europe because I am afraid for my safety,” Klein said. “I don’t think that can be called provocation because there was no political statement here.”

He said that he wouldn’t recommend his friends walk around with a kippah on their heads because it is dangerous–and added that this isn’t the case in all areas of France, but nevertheless represents parts of France “100 percent.”
Klein concluded that the original purpose of the video was to have a discussion on the issue, and was pleased that it has sparked a conversation.
