The gun grabbers’ war on the Second Amendment is escalating with two new frontal assaults on the rights of U.S. citizens. In the crosshairs are those with family members who have received treatment at mental health facilities, as well as select veterans of the US armed forces.
A San Jose, California, woman, Lori Rodriguez, has gone to court…suing the City of San Jose for the return of 12 firearms. The weapons were seized by local authorities in 2013 after her husband spent 72 hours undergoing inpatient psychiatric examinations.
Mrs. Rodriguez claims she can safely secure the weapons in her home, and that it is unfair for her to forfeit her Constitutional rights. So, she is pursuing the legal issue through the court system.

Meanwhile, 100 residents of Priest River, Idaho, have shown up at the home of a local veteran to prevent the Veterans Administration from enforcing a firearms seizure order against John Arnold. The crowd gathered after word leaked out that a VA inspector was to arrive at Arnold’s home on August 6, 2015 to “complete an inspection and seize the guns.” The VA issued the order after it claimed Arnold was no longer competent to handle his own finances. However, Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler disagreed, telling reporters outside the Arnold home, “I took an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution and uphold the laws of Idaho. This seemed appropriate to show my support. I was going to make sure Mr. Arnold’s rights weren’t going to be breached.”
As government officials bend over backward to strip Americans of their firearms, Gun Owners of America is working overtime defending the Second Amendment Rights of Americans. GOA President Larry Pratt responded: “If we are serious about protecting our freedoms, we had better be serious about getting the anti-freedom crowd out of office. One of the best ways to sort the good guys from the bad guys is the gun issue. If they are not for you having a gun, they are not for you, at all.”
