Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has impressed Fox News hosts Juan Williams and George Will with his recent comments against Islamic extremism, following last year’s military-backed coup to overthrow Mohamed Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood.
“We are in need of a religious revolution,” el-Sisi said in a New Year’s Day speech. “You imams are responsible before Allah. The entire world … is waiting for your next move … because [the Islamic world] is being torn, it is being destroyed, it is being lost, and it’s being lost by our own hands.”
George Will commented that el-Sisi may be the most “plausible” candidate for the next Nobel Peace Prize.
