Authorities on Monday were searching Kentucky Lake, a reservoir along the Tennessee River west of Nashville, after the son of country music star Craig Morgan went missing Sunday in a boating accident, Fox News reported.
Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Rod Edwards said the search began Sunday at about 4 p.m. after Morgan’s son, Jerry Greer, 19, was tubing with another teenager but did not surface. Both teens were wearing life jackets, Edwards said.
Morgan and his wife, Karen Greer, issued a request for privacy and prayers.

“Recent Dickson County High School graduate Jerry Greer (19), son of country music entertainer Craig Morgan and wife Karen Greer, went missing yesterday following a boating accident on Kentucky Lake in Humphreys County, Tennessee. Recovery efforts to locate him are underway. The family is grateful for everyone’s support and prayers and requests privacy during this difficult time,” the statement read.
Rescue organizations from around the state have responded to the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office’s call for assistance. About 50 boats are participating in the search, including an underwater vehicle to probe parts of Kentucky Lake where the water is as deep as 15 feet. A scaled-down search was conducted overnight. The full search resumed at 6 a.m. Monday. The search area is reportedly five to 10 acres wide.
“It is a big area that we’re looking at so we’re going to try and review the statements that we have from our eyewitnesses and narrow that down today,” said Matt Majors, a boating accident investigator.
