Chris Matthews thinks moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem would anger Muslims and harm the “hopeful capital of a Palestinian state.”
MATTHEWS: Why are we moving the embassy to Jerusalem at a time that the whole place over there could blow up? Why do we do something that’s right in the face of the Palestinians, right in the face of the Jordanians, the Saudis, the Egyptians? The one thing they say is, “Leave the Dome of the Rock alone, leave our — the hopeful capital of a Palestinian state alone. Don’t desecrate it by saying it’s the capital of Israel at this point.”

Matthews argued that the hypothetical move should only be political pandering.
MATTHEWS: But you don’t do it. You say you’re going to do it to pander a little bit. Fine, that’s politics. But you don’t actually do it. Doesn’t Trump know this?
