The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has designated the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as a terrorist organization, placing it in the same category as al-Qaeda, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. CAIR is a non-profit organization that was established in 1994 in San Francisco. It is America’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization headquartered in Washington D.C.
Megyn Kelly invited human rights attorney Brooke Goldstein on Monday night’s The Kelly File to comment on the UAE’s decision to list CAIR as a terrorist group:
First of all, it’s about time. And it happens because the UAE finally has the courage and the conviction to designate a very well-known terror front organization.

Ms. Goldstein said that there are many board members on the CAIR staff that have been convicted for supporting other terrorist groups, like Hamas.
What’s controversial is why the United States allows CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood, which is the mother of CAIR, to operate freely within our borders.
CAIR and members of the Muslim Brotherhood have made many official visits to the White House during the Obama administration.

CAIR argues that it is a “civil rights” organization and requests that the UAE review and remove their name, along with the Muslim American Society (MAS) from their list of terrorist groups. CAIR wrote a statement on its Facebook page:
“We call on the United Arab Emirates cabinet to review this list and remove organizations such as CAIR, the Muslim American Society, and other civil society organizations that peacefully promote civil and democratic rights and that oppose terrorism whenever it occurs, wherever it occurs and whoever carries it out.”
