According to developing reports, a man was taken into police custody Thursday afternoon after he allegedly flew a drone over the White House fence. The incident came just months after another drone operator landed a craft on the presidential lawn and amid several other security flubs involving the U.S. Secret Service.
At least the north side of the White House was shut down in response to the latest drone incident, CNN reported.
Few details are available as of the latest reports; however, CNN interviewed witnesses who confirmed the suspect was attempting to fly the remotely operated vehicle over the executive mansion’s perimeter fence. Barack Obama was not inside the White House at the time of the incident. Reports indicate he was at Camp David Thursday.
