Oklahoma police reported on Monday that they have found the body of country singer Craig Strickland, who had gone missing last Sunday, Dec. 27.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Strickland’s body was found in Bear Creek Cove on Kaw Lake, which is about a two hour drive north of Oklahoma City, near the Kansas border.
Searchers discovered the body of Strickland’s friend, Chase Moreland, and the boat they had gone duck hunting in on Dec. 28.

Strickland and Moreland “embarked on a duck hunting trip over the weekend and Moreland even foreshadowed the tragedy on Twitter by writing, ‘In case we don’t come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm,'” Eonline reported. Strickland’s wife wrote in an online post that her husband’s dog, Sam, was found alive last Monday, having not left Moreland’s side until his body was found.
