Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, recently called for a “kind of global government” during an interview with”Süddeutsche Zeitung,” found in English on the Huffington Post.
He argues that the issue of climate change would be especially helped by a global government.
Gates argues that the UN system has failed, saying: “You can make fun of it, but in truth it was sad how the conference in Copenhagen is run, how individual who behave like the UN system failed.”

He also stated:
“Take the UN, it has been created especially for the security in the world. We are ready for war, because we have taken every precaution. We have NATO, we have divisions, jeeps, trained people,” Gates said. “But what is with epidemics? How many doctors do we have as much planes, tents, what scientists? If there were such a thing as a world government, we would be better prepared.”
The billionaire recently made headlines for a plan to implement a cashless system in multiple third-world countries.
Noted as a philanthropist, causes such as gun control, Common Core, and geoengineering have all received millions from Gates in funding.
How close are we to a global government such as the one Gates envisions? Feel free to share your thoughts.
