Bernie Sanders’ campaign manger Jeff Weaver believes there is a real chance Donald Trump can win in November.
Speaking of Hillary Clinton’s chances, Weaver told Politico’s Glenn Thrush, “I certainly think she can win, yes. … But it’s going to be much closer than many people think. I think that some people on the Democratic side who think that, you know, Trump is such a buffoon that it’s already won- but I think he’s a very dangerous opponent and I think he certainly has the ability to win as well.”
Weaver believes Clinton could be in trouble because, unlike the Sander’s campaign, her campaign has a messaging problem.

“One of the problems that the Clinton people have, which is more of a process problem than a substance problem, is that their packaging is often very wonky and not clear enough,” he said. “You have to be able to talk about your 20-page policy in a bumper sticker. Do you know what I mean? We had policies but we also had the bumper sticker that represented those policies … Trump has bumper stickers but no policies. “
According to Politico, the feeling of many Democrats, including Weaver, is that more anger needs to be voiced from Clinton in order to mirror voter’s frustration with the country’s current trajectory. Both Trump and Sanders, on the other hand, seemed to have successfully tapped into that frustration.
