After President Obama went on TV Wednesday night with his tough talk about a “relentless” U.S. military campaign to “degrade and destroy” the Islamic State terror group, Charles Krauthammer went to TV to dismantle and destroy Obama’s speech.
Krauthammer said that the strategy Obama revealed was more about politics than it was about fighting and winning a war against ISIS. The Fox News analyst took apart Obama’s prime-time address, saying, “This was a political speech in the guise of a military plan […] This is a president trying to save a collapsed presidency.”
Foxnewsinsider.com shares the no-holds-barred analysis in which Krauthammer quipped:
ISIS terrorists in Syria are likely not quaking in their boots after that address, adding that tonight’s speech gave off the same feeling as in 2009 when Obama announced a surge and then immediately set a withdrawal date – “that sense of an uncertain trumpet.”
