Django Unchained actress Daniele Watts was recently stopped by the police and, so she claimed, was victimized.
The arriving officer said that the police had some complaints of lewd behavior in the area, and all he wanted was to see the actress’ ID. When she refused, time and time again, things got nuclear–fast.
She brings up the fact that she is black instantly in the tape, trying to play the race card; and then when that didn’t stop the officer, she tried to play the famous card as well. Things got even weirder when she tried to have her dad talk to the officer.

From Watts’ Facebook post:
“Today I was handcuffed and detained by 2 police officers from the Studio City Police Department after refusing to agree that I had done something wrong by showing affection, fully clothed, in a public space.
When the officer arrived, I was standing on the sidewalk by a tree. I was talking to my father on my cell phone. I knew I had done nothing wrong, that I wasn’t harming anyone, so I walked away.
A few minutes later, I was still talking to my dad when two different police officers accosted me and forced me into handcuffs.
…And moreover, I deeply enjoyed connecting with the cops who detained me. I allowed myself to be honest about my anger, frustration, and rage as tears flowed from my eyes. The tears I cry for a country that calls itself ‘the land of the free and the home of the brave’ and yet detains people for claiming that very right.”
The problem is, according to witnesses from the scene, she wasn’t just kissing her boyfriend as she so kindly says. She was actually having sex in the car, according to TMZ.
After Watts had refused to show her ID and proceeded to storm off, an officer on the tape can be heard saying that had she just shown the ID, he would have already been gone.
Even if officers have been on the wrong side of the law recently, sometimes it’s easiest to comply with a simple request.
