We’re more than a year away from the next presidential election, and three main anchors for MSNBC are all predicting Barack Obama will be re-elected as president.
The Associated Press isn’t shocked by that, admitting the network is known for its leftist slant.
“When three MSNBC hosts forecast the winner of next year’s presidential race, their choice isn’t surprising, considering the network’s liberal tilt,” AP reported
“But their respective certainty wasn’t uniform when asked that question at an appearance before reporters on Tuesday at a meeting of the Television Critics Association.”
Lawrence O’Donnell, host of “The Last Word,” made a solid prediction of an Obama win. Rachel Maddow also picked Obama, saying there’s a weak Republican field of challengers at this point.

None of the three people mentioned are journalists, nor do they claim to be–all are commentators, just as Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, and Bill O'Reilly are. And I'd guess the three I just named are all predicting an Obama loss.
And so what? "The Deadliest Catch" gets a much bigger audience than any of the six. Most of the ignorant electorate will start paying attention about six weeks before the election.

Unfortuneately, those that drank the kool-aid really did drink it and look at the three
as "the word".
Maybe MSNBC anchors have already been let on how many thugs will be working at the polls in 2012 to scare people away from going inside to vote or at computers hacking in to the voting computers to change the votes they don't like.
We need to return to the paper trail and to change the rule about those with "carry" permits having to leave them behind when going to vote. The "Judge" of a "governor" would come in very handy for discouraging those "baton brandishers" from hanging around the voting polls in 2012.
Good way to prevent that would be to station police or national guardsmen/women at the polling stations.
Wonder how many maintenance contracts for the technical support on voting machines will
be SEIU contracts as they were in Nevada?
Also the Acorn free rides and indoctrination bus tour to the polling places. I know they are not "Acorn" anymore but the same organization is still there. They will be submitting fake registrations and all the tricks they used last time.

A couple of notes to add to your comments (I didn't want to break up your flow), on part 2: It is also true that states that voted against Obama are more statistically likely to be" welfare states"–that is, getting more money from the federal government than they pay in federal taxes. "Blue states" are more likely to pay out more than they get back.
And second, like most conservatives, you and Olson are neglecting to count farm subsidies as "welfare:–which of course they are, even if Michele Bachmann is among the beneficiaries.
good point, but the most interesting to me was the professor from 1877 and his theory of what brings down countries that have spoiled the population with free give always. Of course farm subsidies are just exactly part of that which he speaks of. We need to help the ones that can't not help themselves and stop funding freeloaders. I would speculate we could cut 10 percent of government employees and not even miss them. Then the next year cut 10 percent again, that way they can slowly get off my tax dollars and get a real job. Or when a useless government worker retires, don't replace them.

Yes, some education funding could be cut. And a lot of military spending could be, considering we spend more than the next 10 nations combined–especially if we'd quite waging stupid and illegal wars in places like Iraq and Libya.
I'd also cut the rich-kid subsidy of what conservatives have misnamed "death taxes." The person getting an inheritance did nothing to deserve it, so why should s/he get free money? And if I want my kids to have money they didn't earn, I can give it to them before I die. In that regard I agree with Thomas Paine, whom Tea Partiers love to claim but actually seem to understand little about (he was also anti-religion, which I'm not).
I'd cut many corporate subsidies unless they can be shown to contribute directly to jobs in THIS country. And I'd let the Bush tax cuts expire for any person or business who cannot prove that they've used the tax cuts to act like those "job creators" that Republicans keep referring to.

James McPherson we have discussed in detail previously why such Welfare States exist in primarily The Red States!Must we cover this subject numerous times? Were it not for The Liberal Democratic Social Programs coupled with the fact that minorities in general prefer the warmer climates in the Red States instead of the Blue States, then we most definitely would have a more proportionate share between the Blue & Red States Of the poor.

In fact this is one subject which we do agree on as much as I dislike being in agreement with you. I have never been in favor of Farm Subsidies & in my opinion funding should be eliminated for this wasteful program. Why? My reasons are as follows……

Subsidies induce farmers to overproduce, which pushes down prices and creates political demands for further subsidies. Subsidies inflate land prices in rural America. And the flow of subsidies from Washington hinders farmers from innovating, cutting costs, diversifying their land use, and taking the actions needed to prosper in a competitive global economy.

As for your other argument, it doesn't add up–unless you consider the "welfare states" of Alaska, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Idaho to be "warmer climes"–while excluding the "giving states" of Oregon and California (the most ethnically diverse state in the country, with a bad economy that would be much improved if it could simply keep its own money instead of subsidizing half-term Gov. Sarah Palin's state).

According to audits of state pension funds CalPRS, CalSTERS and the UCRP there are
CalPRS: Nearly 1,000,000 active state employees
CalSTERS: 833,000 active state school system k-14 employees
UCRP: 100,000 active state university employees
That's 1,933,000 people and their families living off the taxes paid by the private sector. Their pay is good, their pensions are wonderful and their health insurance is out of this world.
The dollars involved in paying for our government employees is staggering! If every state employee's compensation was cut by 17%, we would wipe out our $24.3 billion deficit!
Add to that the aggressive "green" policies, the endless list of social programs and the generous care and support we give to people who came here illegally and it's a wonder we made it this far.
Yes, my state voted for Obama.

But it's still early–most people won't pay much attention for another year, and "The Deadliest Catch" still draws about twice as many people as the most popular show on any cable news network.
