After any publicized gun crime, on cue, Second Amendment-hating leftists issue a call for stricter gun control. Of course, the idea that taking guns away from law-abiding citizens will somehow reduce crime is patently ludicrous.
A passerby at a school in San Antonio proved the opposite, in fact, when he saved a woman’s life by merely brandishing a legal handgun.
Reports indicate a woman, shortly after dropping off her child at school, was attacked by the child’s father. Armed with a knife, the man stabbed her multiple times in the neck and upper body.
Nearby, another man, armed with his licensed concealed handgun, produced the weapon and ordered the attacker to drop his knife. This led to the subject’s surrender and subsequent arrest for aggravated assault.
The victim was listed in critical condition shortly after the incident, though she could have easily been killed had a man with a gun not been nearby and willing to intervene.
Just days before a divorce hearing, this man brutally attacked the mother of his child in broad daylight, outside of a school.
Despite his brazen disregard for the law and apparent willingness to commit murder, the threat of being shot caused this monster to reconsider his plan.
Studies show that an armed populace is an effective crime deterrent, which this incident proves. Additionally, it pokes a hole in the left’s theory that outlawing guns will prevent violent crime.
The exact opposite is true, it seems. In this same case, had the Good Samaritan been prohibited from carrying a gun, the only armed individual would have been the attacker. Unintimidated by a handgun, the estranged husband would be free to stab to his heart’s content.
I don’t expect to hear any somber cries from the left to outlaw knives in the wake of this attack, though, thus exposing yet another glaring liberal hypocrisy. Guns (along with knives, bombs, baseball bats, tire irons, and piano wire) aren’t inherently good or evil. The person holding them is the sole determinant of how they will be used; and if outlawed among the law-abiding public, it’s not hard to imagine the disastrous effect.

I remember a time in Chicago, I believe in the 60;s or 70′, that there were more people killed with baseball bats than with guns. Hey, they had the Chicago Cubs and White Sox. What more do you need to know?

PS, I remember the scene with Al Capone killing one of his unlucky operatives with a baseball bat, at Dinner!
PROBLEM: People who fear concealed carry.
SOLUTION: Auxiliary Deputies. Make it law, concealed carry automatically qualifies for ‘Auxiliary’ status, sworn in while receiving their permit. No uniform required, might carry a card stating auxiliary status, might even attend a light weight class on procedure. Can be refused, it would not prohibit CC in any way.
BENEFITS: This provides public confidence that someone legal, in stealth mode, will be around “could be anywhere.” This would redirect the public’s fear back to the perp where it belongs. A deterrent of no small magnitude.
SIDE AFFECTS: Law and order, a common goal of police and law abiding citizens, will give new meaning to “public safety.” Gives power back to the Constitution. Also, it would knock the wind out of those pimps for gun control.

I’m surprized the concealed carrier was’nt arrested as in alot of states schools are considered no gun zones,which to a criminal means free fire zone as Auroa Colo proved and Ft. Hood ,several more come to mind .A unarmed citizen is a victim in waiting or a future slave to a out of control government,which is exactly why we have a second amendent !Without it the rest would soon fall.John Adams said”there are to ways to enslave a nation ,one by the sword”{gun}the other by debt !” This regime is working on both ,yet another reason to kick this failure to the crub and vote for Romney and Ryan!Yes I know Paul would have been a good one ,but please do’nt waste your vote ,we need this bunch out !!!
Outlaw guns, knives, and cars. There are more people killed by reckless and irresponsible people, nott to mention drunk drivers, than all of the guns in the US. As a legally Concealed Handgun License (CHL) carrier, even though I am a veteran whose official weapon was a 45 cal automatic, I had to attend classroom training, took a written test to ensure I knew the law, sent a set of fingerprints to the FBI and to the Texas Dept. of Public Safety, had to get a background report from the local P D, and after 4 months finally got my license. With over one million CHLs in Texas, you probably can count on one hand the number of times a CHL has been misused, yet there are several incidents where CHL carriers have come to the assistance of people in danger. Walmart welcomes customers with CHLs. There have been two instances where employees have been saved from real serious harm, one from death, by a customer with a CHL coming to their aid. When the law went into effect, armed assaults went down over 50%. When England and Australian passed laws to prohibit arms, armed assaults went up over 100%. Mexico prohibits the ownership of guns, so the only ones who have them are the corrupt cops and the narcotics trafficers. I live on the border. Juarez has around 2500 murders a year, and the number has come down from a high of close to 4000 4 years ago. Yet, where I live, in El Paso, we are considered the safest city in the US.
