CNN’s Wolf Blitzer played the role of wise guy during a segment last Thursday on Rep. Allen West and communism. West “sounds like McCarthy,” Blitzer said, referring to his allegations of communists in Congress. The comment was designed to ridicule West, a combat veteran of the Iraq War and a man considered by many Republicans to be vice-presidential material. Blitzer urged West to issue a public apology.
But Blitzer is the one who should apologize, for he did not offer West’s comments in context. Blitzer also ignored clear and convincing evidence that the Communist Party USA, once funded by Moscow, regards the Congressional Progressive Caucus and the Democratic Party as allies in the “struggle” for socialism in the U.S.
“What’s the difference between the CPUSA and progressive Democrats?” asked CPUSA writer Dan Margolis. “The CPUSA has worked to get Democrats elected, fought for health care reform with the public option, and embraced most of what organized labor has been doing.”
In the article, described as part of the discussion leading up to the Communist Party USA’s 29th National Convention in 2010, he goes on, “The strategy is pro-active, as well. Having looked at the current troubles, and the demoralization that has occurred since the 2008 elections, our line is even more important: Obama and the Democrats are not the enemy; they represent better possibilities for working people than the Republicans.”

That is why the “Communists” don’t use that title anymore. They want you to believe it no longer exists, and that it is silly, or divisive to apply that designation to our esteemed leadership. McCarthy was right. Rep. Allen West is right.
So what’s wrong with West sounding like Joe McCarthy? After the Communist party lost their political power in Russia, past records were opened about 1950 events in the United States. Turns out that Joe McCarthy was 100% correct in his assessment that Washington, Hollywood, Academia, and the “News” Media was infested with Communist spies….basically the same situation as today! Is it any wonder that Russia’s main air to air missile is an exact copy of our Sidewinder missile? The Russian spies continually fed information back to Russia while that missile was being developed here. Is it any wonder that the Russian’s supersonic bomber was almost an exact copy of our B-70. Ours crashed. So did theirs. Did they copy the flaws too? Wolf Blitzer needs to get his head out of his rear end and do the research instead of just functioning like a left-wing troll.

In a 2010 piece, the CPUSA noted “having more comrades in decision-making roles under the Democratic Party opens the door to increasing our effectiveness and influences within that party.”
In the same piece, the CPUSA made the case that “After the incredible movement to elect Barack Obama, more far-reaching solutions and socialism in particular are back at the dinner table for discussion… opportunities for increasing our base quantitatively and qualitatively have increased ten-fold.”
Finally, the CPUSA finishes the thought: “Currently, the conditions rarely if ever allow us to run open Communists for office. When members do run for office, it is within the auspices of the Democratic Party. Otherwise, we find ourselves supporting progressive (and in some instances not-so-progressive) Democratic candidates. Despite how much many of us would love to run comrades for office as Communists, we all agree that this is how we currently have to function in this political climate.”
