I like Paul Ryan. He seems like a great person. I think he’s sincere about wanting to set America back on the right course. But, like so many other so-called “conservative” Republican leaders, he doesn’t understand political strategy for turning around a country headed for unmitigated disaster.
Let’s take what he had to say about the immigration issue on ABC’s “This Week,” for example. Asked by Jonathan Karl, sitting in for George Stephanopoulos, about what Barack Obama had to say about it in his State of the Union address, here’s how he responded:
“I really don’t enjoy saying this. I did think that his words were measured and productive in the State of the Union. But putting this – leaking this out does set things in the wrong direction. Look, the question that we always have to ask ourselves, particularly with this White House, is the president looking for a partisan advantage or is he looking for a bipartisan law? And by putting these details out without a guest worker program, without addressing future flow, by giving advantage to those who cut in front of line for immigrants who came here legally, not dealing with border security adequately, that tells us that he’s looking for a partisan advantage and not a bipartisan solution. There are groups in the House and the Senate working together to get this done and when he does things like this, it makes that much more difficult to do that. And that’s why I think this particular move, very counterproductive.”

If one has a sound conviction about something and has sound arguments to substantiate that convition they need to make a stand and not waver. To compromise weakens your conviction and peoples belief in you as a leader. Look through history the winners never backed down and took a looser status. Knowing the opposition is a no brainer. They are unrelenting and know how to sap one’s force by fair means or foul. To them and all despots, the end justifies the means. Even now the author of sequestration is dumping it in the lap of the GOP. They will point the finger,lay blame, cry crisis, and even “save the children” If the GOP wavers they are letting the United States and all the patriots down. Preserve the nation, the constitution and what liberties we have left. Make BO make an honest and acceptable transparent effort to show he can do what is asked of him,”Stop spending money we do not have”.
How come that immigration of the past had rules and regulations every one was expected to follow if they wanted US citizenship. How did they manage to come in droves with no documentation nor concern for their survival as humans. It was irresponsible for those who looked the other way and allowed it to happen. Also it became a problem for those ecking out an existance because the jobs were being taken away by those who accepted less pay. Is it too late to correct the wrong that has created far reaching pain, anger and resentment? Why should the new comers preempt those who follow rules? Is not the USA a land of rules, based on the Constitution? It is not insensitive to follow rules which encourage organization and fairness. It is shameful to USE people as a means to usurp power. If history repeats itself one can see the seeds of incivility growing into a civil war.

P.S. The Supreme Court of the United States does not state whether the Orly Taitz case was granted or denied, no answer yet, NO TREASON YET by the justices of the Supreme Court. So let’s pray for their WISDOM.
