First it was the Department of Homeland Security, then it was the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and now the Social Security Administration is set to purchase 174,000 rounds of hollow point bullets that will be delivered to 41 locations across the country.
A solicitation posted by the SSA on the FedBizOpps website asks for contractors to supply 174,000 rounds of “.357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow point pistol ammunition.”
An online ammunition retailer describes the bullets as suitable “for peak performance rivaling and sometimes surpassing handloads in many guns,” noting that the ammo is “a great personal defense bullet.”
The synopsis to the solicitation adds that the ammunition is to be shipped to 41 locations within 60 days of purchase. A separate spreadsheet lists those locations, which include the Social Security headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland as well as major cities across the country including Los Angeles, Detroit, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Denver, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Seattle.
Hollow point bullets are designed to expand as they enter the body, causing maximum damage by tearing apart internal organs.

Our little SS office has apx 6 employees is two blocks from the police station and they have a armed guard ? What the ____ is wrong with our gov.?
Just about the same here lastfreeman. We have 5 SS employees, behind bullet proof glass, and a security guard. In all honesty, the employess scare me far worse than the very nice security guard. I wonder if our small SS office employees will be sent to those larger cities receiving the ammo, for training too? All this ammunition is beyond ludicrous and scary.
What was the justifiication for such a purchase ?? Why wasn’t that covered in the article ?? Can someone educate me on this subject ?? or should we get prepared for more aggressive law enforcement ??

That plan would not surprise me…… Hopefully the military is set to protect U.S, citizens…..but who knows?
Notice the article states that these government agencies are preparing for ‘civil unrest’. What it really should say is that the government is preparing to go to war against its own people. That would be closer to the truth.
I saw no mention of potential civil unrest in the article…… I sense that the Administration is prepared to create some civil unrest as an excuse though…… I would like an explanation from the FBI and the Pentagon regarding some oversight of the government agencies call to arms during this election season….. Is Chicago going to try to rule the world ??
i want to know y they need such a destructive bullet wont a normal round put through ur skull do the same.any ammo maker that sends them this bullet is there for condoning murder and just as guilty of commiting murder try to take our guns try to force ur communist agenda obama we will meat in hell.
I’m not sure if this is or is not a conspiracy against the people but I can tell you that what the government is doing is they are driving up the price of ammo by doing this. The 223 rounds I usually buy have gone up $20 for a box of 200 this month. If they can’t get our guns, they’ll settle for the ammo. Think about it.
