For those of us old enough to remember the debacle of Supreme Court-nominee Clarence Thomas’ “lynching,” many likened the smear campaign against former presidential candidate Herman Cain by the mainstream media as an attempt to repeat history.
Several years after the Clarence Thomas debacle, with the changing of the guard, Bill Clinton was also accused of sexual impropriety. And when, like the Whac-a-Mole game, women were popping up across the country accusing Clinton of everything from casual sexual encounters to rape and beating, the scant critical coverage was attributed to, according to Hillary Clinton, a “vast Right-wing conspiracy.” Unlike the Clarence Thomas case, with Bill Clinton being a liberal versus a conservative—this is the one crucible of the Left—the mainstream media circled their wagons and protected their darling. Hillary Clinton’s charge of a “vast Right-wing conspiracy” was vociferously echoed by the mainstream media. Monica Lewinsky was a red-eyed devil spewing lies, they said. Of course, we later found out that it was all true, down to the cigar and semen-stained dress.
When a liberal calls something a conspiracy, we are to take them at their word. When a conservative says the same thing, we are told they should be carted off to the psyche ward at Bellevue and stripped of their guns and religion.
But the veil has been pulled back this week with the revelation that Media Matters for America is basically a propaganda machine for the White House and every other radical group associated with him, chiefly Center for American Progress (CAP). The White House and CAP is a Frankenstein with Obama as the empty shell, and CAP is the rotting brain. Media Matters has been spoon-feeding MSNBC and a host of journalists across the country support for their darling Obama and spewing lies against their enemies, from Herman Cain being an Uncle Tom, bigot, and sexual predator to the Tea Party being racists and domestic terrorists.
The Center for American Progress contains a who’s who of an endless hit parade of radicals, with uber-radical John Podesta as the wizard behind the curtain. Podesta in turn is on the board of the Apollo Alliance, which makes our hit parade of radicals in CAP look like a picnic. Apollo Alliance includes an endless array of “environmental” groups, like Sierra Club, and dozens of unions under the umbrellas of the AFL-CIO and SEIU—oh, and let us not forget United Steel Workers. (These weren’t the same unions that supported Obama, were they? Must be a coincidence). Some of the comrades in the Apollo Alliance (they’re guarding their current associations a little closer these days): Van Jones (Steering Committee 2006); Jesse Jackson (National Advisory Board 2006); Ed Rendell, Governor of Pennsylvania 2003-2011 (Apollo Alliance National Advisory Board 2006); Phil Angelides, former State of California Treasurer (current Chairman of the Board); Henry Cisneros, President Clinton’s Housing and Urban Development Secretary 1993-1997, formerly on ACORN’s (they don’t exist anymore, right?) Advisory Committee, and now on Obama’s National Latino Advisory Board-another hit parade of radicals and socialist (current Apollo Alliance National Advisory Board). Geez, talk about friends in high places! This is just the crème de la crème of comrades. I could go on ad nauseam describing all the radicals associated with this “progressive” behemoth.
