The White House has left open the possibility of enacting its Internet agenda via executive order after the failed effort to bring the Democrat-supported cybersecurity bill to a full vote in the Senate last week.
In response to a question from The Hill, a Washington, D.C. political newspaper, about whether President Obama was considering advancing his party’s cyber-plan through an executive order, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney didn’t rule out the possibility.
“In the wake of Congressional inaction and Republican stall tactics, unfortunately, we will continue to be hamstrung by outdated and inadequate statutory authorities that the legislation would have fixed,” he said via email.
“Moving forward, the President is determined to do absolutely everything we can to better protect our nation against today’s cyber threats and we will do that,” added Carney.
The failed cyber security bill, which could be revived by Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid when the Senate comes back from recess in September, would have given federal agencies in charge of regulating critical infrastructure industries like power companies and utilities the ability to mandate cybersecurity recommendations.

Just curious as to how you would define “RUIN AMERICA.” Second, what did he take over? Third, he did cut the defense budget, which more than DOUBLED from 2002-2008, largely due to the operations in Iraq/Afghanistan. According to the Huffington Post, the U.S. Defense budget accounts for 43% of defense budget of the defense budget of countries around the globe, with the second highest, China, accounts for 7%. What else could we discuss?
Just for the sake of the funnies how about a uncontroled border or giving illegals amnesy and at the sametime arming drug cartels,or borrowing 42cents on the dollar from the Chinese ,Russians and Saudis to buy votes to stay in power ?We remember his open mic statement to the Russians and who knows what our tratior in chief has promised the Chinese or whisper in the ear of the Saudis while kissing the ring or other parts of the Saudis!If you trusts this crazy fool you are a bigger fool than he.This from a “man” who promised to “heal the planet and stop the seas from rising”Then used rising seas ,weather, proir adminstration,the other party , other countries ,not being able to tell a good story to the people,Wars ,some of which he supported and started ,bad luck , talk radio and socalled typos and miss quotes of his not so brillant words? First he’ll take the internet so all that we will hear is what the “unbiased” press has tried to get us to believe thus far. Then he will take cell phones off line so we cannot discuss what is really going on and communicate with one another. Look at the phone books thicknesses around the country since the advent of the cellular phone craze. Most people are dropping their land lines or simply not renewing them.
But of course Obozo can take those down too!
An extreme point of view. The idea behind the proposed legislature is to require standards for cyber security for critical infrastructures of our societies, such as power plants. It is not that federal government would control the internet.
Oh… and, I don’t disagree that the number of land-line phones have decreased since cell phones have became mainstream, but to verify it by the thickness of phone books? lol.
Executive Order 11000 – Allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.
Execurive Order 10990 – Allows the government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.
Executive Order 10997 – Allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels and minerals.
And it goes on. If only the press would stop covering up for this dictator wannabe.
Not sure exactly where you are getting you information. For one, E.O. 10990 had nothing to do with transportation or the country’s infrastructure, it dealt with employee safety in the federal government. As for as the press covering up for this “dictator”… well, NONE of these were Executive Orders that were given by Obama. All of his E.O.’s are number in the 13000′s. To refer to E.O. 10990 again, it was signed by JFK in 1962.
What the H***!!! Where are our elected officials?! It is for this and many other reasons that lead me to believe that this is the beginnings of a complete and total “TAKEOVER” by the united states government against the FREE PEOPLE of these united states! Think back HOW alarmed we were when the DICTATOR in iran shut down the internet during the protest against the govt.YOU can’t in your wildest imagings believe that it could happen here?!
