When Chief Justice John Roberts upheld the constitutionality of Obamacare, he didn’t just betray conservatives.
His twisted legal logic also betrayed the American people by opening the door to the largest expansion of federal power since Social Security was enacted.
Roberts and his new liberal soul-mates decided it’s OK for the federal government to tax us if we don’t do what Washington’s bullies and nannies want us to do — or think is good for us.
Lord knows, the feds have already taxed us to death — and after death, too — on everything from capital gains to booze. If they can “penalize” us for not buying health care insurance, what’s next?
Tax us if we don’t buy a smaller house? If we don’t buy an electric car? How about if we don’t buy exercise equipment? Or eat broccoli? Or wear Earth Shoes or condoms? There’ll be no end to it.
The principle of limited government — now there’s a quaint 18th-century idea — in Washington has been passed on since Calvin Coolidge left town. But as my libertarian friend, Judge Andrew Napolitano of Fox News, said this week, the Obamacare decision has created a new opportunity for unlimited government.
You don’t have to be a constitutional scholar like the judge to know that the Supreme Court has set a horrible precedent. But that judicial train wreck has left Union Station. It’s time to stop whining and get to work.
The only way we can derail Obamacare and the Even Bigger Government Express is by firing the engineer-in-chief and electing a Congress that will legislatively undo the damage the Supreme Court has done to individual liberty.
It won’t be easy. But the Fourth of July holiday is the perfect time for voters to start another revolution to win back the freedoms our Founding Fathers fought for 236 years ago.
They risked their lives and fortunes to secure liberty for the individual and put government in its place. They knew the only way people can be free is when their government is kept small, weak, and fragmented. And when it takes orders from the people instead of the other way around.
We hear precious little praise for the principle of limited government in 2012 America. I’m sorry to say that the last president who had a deep understanding of the proper relationship between government and a free people was my father, Ronald Reagan.
He knew the spirit of freedom had to be kept alive by the people. In 1961, when his earliest political speeches were arguing against the legislation that eventually created Medicare, he warned us that freedom is not in the DNA of Americans; it is in our hearts and minds.
“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
On this Independence Day, we need to get fired up about freedom and start fighting for it — at home. Every single American who’s outraged by the Obamacare decision should be energized to show up and vote this fall. And the next dozen falls. If we don’t starting fighting for our freedom now, we deserve to lose it.

I remember my grad dad telling me 50 odd years ago, that because of the Civil War the Federal Government would grow to control everyone’s life. He said near the end they would “Law” and tax people for the very air they breath, and time has proven him right. He died about 40 years ago… He never saw it, but knew and understood the consequences of it..

First, I do NOT agree with Obamacare but, since we are forced to pay into a retirement account (social security) and a retiree medical insurance account (medicare), why is anyone complaining about Obamacare? If you don’t like Obamacare then why do you support social security and medicare? I think social security, medicare, and Obamacare should all three go away. If people want to keep these programs then make it voluntary and, in regards to social security, limit the amount of money received to the amount paid in plus a percentage earned over the years, just like a savings account.
As long as we have the 16th amendment and the IRS we will remain slaves to our government. The tax code takes away the freedoms our founders fought to give us. There was a reason they didn’t put the direct taxation of the federal government to the people in the constitution. Maybe now it the time to repeal the 16th amendment and institute the FAIR tax. Yes, it is still a tax, but it abolishes the IRS. I would like to hear what this organization thinks of it.
What the useful idiots don’t understand is that Obamacare will not increase the number of insured. Those people who cannot afford to purchase insurance may still not be able to purchase insurance, only now they will be taxed for not purchasing insurance making it even more unaffordable! Plus, they won’t even have the cash to pay for any medical expenses they may incur.
While we were raising our family we were self-employed. Insurance wasn’t available. When we did work for a company that offered insurance the premiums were so high we couldn’t afford it. When you spent under $200/year on medical costs and your insurance was going to cost you $300/month you didn’t buy it. Now instead of paying $300/month for insurance that you can’t afford you might be paying $200/month additional TAX. Leaving you with less income and still no health insurance. The liberals lied.

I have alway`s paid the taxes required. And will comtinue to do so. BUT and a free American I will not be dictated to by a illegal government. I did not borrow the country into a 16 trillion dollar hole. A illegal president did. He can pay for it as i won`t. I will pay my legal taxes but will not pay one dime to the illegal tax of obama care. Prison might be a vacation. Three meals a day, tv, free medical, and I can ge tmy teeth fixed for free. Lots of kicking back relaxing. Travel is a little limited.

Jan. 22, 1973 was the 39th year of the passing of Roe vs Wade, but it was also the beginning of the 40th year of the slaughter of approximately 4000 babies per day. This innocent blood has desecrated this land and God’s WORD demands there must be a cleansing of this land.

The number 40 is a testing period in the Bible and America has failed to return to God’s ways. In the Book of Chronicles God used heathen nations and unrighteous leaders in Israel in hope of drawing the hearts of the Israelites back to Himself, so too is He doing the same with America today. Just as the vast majority of Israelites refused to turn back to God’s ways, so too is it with the vast majority of Americans today.
History will repeat itself and this is clear to those who seek the truth. God’s has made His judgment clear but the vast majority refuse to listen.
